Princeton records do not indicate where he went after that. • Note: Co-founder, the Medical College of Alabama, 5 Apr 1859, Mobile County, Alabama. On April 5, 1859, the Probate Court of Mobile County granted a charter for a medical school with power vested in a board of trustees originally comprised by Drs. Josiah C. Nott, James Fountain Huestis, William H. Anderson, George A. Ketchum, Francis A. Ross, and Frederick E. Gordon. On November 14, 1859, the Medical College of Alabama opened in Mobile in a rented building. Authority was reassigned to the Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama in 1907. The Medical College of Alabama was transferred from Mobile to Tuscaloosa in 1920, and eventually to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). • Note: The Medical College of Alabama faculty, 1859, Mobile, Mobile Co., AL.
