• Death Note. It appears from the 1880 Morgan County Mortality Schedule that Lewis commited suicide using a pistol. I have ordered copies of the Madisonian newspaper for that period and should have within a few weeks.

Lewis married Caroline May Tompkins, daughter of John Tompkins and Lucy Traylor, on 7 Nov 1852. (Caroline May Tompkins was born on 1 Dec 1833 in Georgia, died on 26 Apr 1921 and was buried in New Madison Cemetery, Madison, Morgan Co., GA.)
