John J. BLAIR/ born at Waxhaws, South Carolina, 12 April 1793,/ died 13 June 1844; aged 52 years, 2 months & 1 day.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."

"Honorable and upright in his dealings with others, faithful and concientious in the discharge of his public and private duties, as a merchant distinguished for his intelligence, promptitude and unwavering integrity. As a friend, kind, sincere and affable. Humble and exemplary as a Christian. He stood high in the well-merited confidence and esteem of his fellow man. A member of the Presbyterian church in Mobile in his life. He adorned the profession he had made and died in the glorious triumph of a Christian's faith."
